2010 Elections Season Around the Corner – The OA Election Season for the troop and teams of the Pikes Peak Council has begun. Unit Leaders will be contacted to set a date for your election during January and elections should be completed by mid to late April. We need you and other Scouts in your unit to form Election Teams and then contact Keith Ness the OA Elections Committee Adviser Keith Ness at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to get trained and scheduled to hold elections in other units. Units cannot conduct their own elections. Scouts elected this year have 1 year from date of election to go through the Ordeal Weekend. A Call-Out (Public Announcement of Results) will be held at the District Camporee events. Units may hold their own Call-Out Ceremonies at a Troop Campout, Court of Honor or Troop Meeting. Scripts are available or you can write you own.

Winter Lock-In and Fun Weekend, February 19 to 21, 2010 at Camp Alexander. Sign up today for the Winter Lock-In. The cost for the food is only $8.00 and can be paid online by going to the event on the Council Calendar on Feb 19^th. Bring board games and winter sleds for a great weekend of fun. Sleep inside in Upper Elks and have Fun. You can arrive any time after 6PM on Friday night and leave whenever you want. Bring the OA guys from your Troop and enjoy a great Fun Weekend.

March 10^th General Membership Meeting and Brotherhood Opportunity Mark your calendar for the Spring General Membership Meeting. More details will be in next months Newsgram but Cameron Ackley is planning to make this event memorable. If you like music and know who the artist are you could win a prize. It will be a modern version of Name that Tune. If you or someone you know wants to seal their membership they can sign up to do their Brotherhood at the meeting by going to the calendar and pay the $14 fee for the sash.

2010 Dues Payment Made Simple - IF you need to pay your 2010 Dues READ THIS. IF YOU BECAME A MEMBER IN THE OA THIS YEAR YOUR DUES ARE PAID FOR 2010. By registering online you save the council staff valuable time processing the payments at the counter or processing the mail. Thanks in advance for making this process better. Another valuable plus is that you get an email receipt to prove you made the payment. You will also get a copy of the Lodge 2010 calendar when you pay your dues. This option should be up and working by the end of October 2009.

Log onto the Pikes Peak Council Website at http://www.pikespeakbsa.org
Select the Calendar Tab at the far right of the menu options.
Select the Jump to Month and using the drop down menus select Dec and 2010.
Then press the Jump to Month button.
On the Calendar for December 2010, scroll down to the date Dec 31, 2010
Click on the Order of the Arrow event on that date.
Select the link on the detail sheet Register for this Event.
If you want to pay for more than one person at this time select Register Group and proceed with the information requested. If you are only paying dues for one person select Register Individual.
