Spring Ordeal Weekend and Mother’s Day May 9 -11 This year the Spring Ordeal Weekend falls on May 9-11, 2008. We anticipate a big turn out. The Registration Deadline is May 2. Encourage everyone you know to sign up early (see form on page 3). We need time to buy the food and make other arrangements. We also recognize that Sunday May 11 is Mother’s Day. We are encouraging our Scouts and Adult Leaders to get home and honor their mothers on this special day. The ceremonies and activities are over by 9:30PM on Saturday evening and scouts can leave then. If they wish to remain until Sunday, departure can be anytime before 9AM. On April 11th, 5 youth and 8 adult members of our lodge made their way down to Hobbs , New Mexico to attend Section W5A conclave 2008. A great time was had by all and we were warmly welcomed by the lodges of W5A. In August we will officially join them and the section will be renamed W5S. On Saturday night our very own Ray Stauffer was elected as Section Vice Chief. Congratulations Ray, we know you will do great job! Ray wasn’t our only winner at conclave. Earlier in the day Donald Spaw took first place in the Traditional Dance competition. Outstanding work from a first year dancer! Want to know what conclave is all about?
